WEN-hair-loss-brush A woman from San Antonio, Texas claims that WEN hair products have caused her to lose her hair.

Betty H. said she lost handfuls of hair at a time as a result of using the celebrity endorsed hair care products. She said it only took about a month for her to see the damaging effects that the WEN hair care products are alleged to have caused.

So much of Betty’s hair fell out, she claimed, and that Wen Cleansing Conditioner caused her to develop a very visible bald spot.

Betty explained, “It was like a wig of fake hair, that’s the texture it had. It would just fall out, and I would get so much hair.”

Like many women, the WEN infomercial convinced her to give the hair care products a try.

“They show these girls with this beautiful hair and they’re throwing it back. If I do mine like that, it’ll fall off,” reported Hodges.

Over 200 individuals from 40 states have now joined one of several class action lawsuits against WEN claiming similar results to Betty’s. Betty is now currently part of the lawsuit, deciding instead to focus on purchasing new products to restore her hair back to its original condition.

“It just teaches you not to buy stuff on TV,” Betty said.

Betty reports that now that she feels confident about the reason for her hair loss, and that she can share her story to help others avoid a similar situation in the future.

WEN Hair Care Accusations

WEN Hair Care by Chaz Dean is advertised to be natural and is formulated to improve both the appearance and overall health of the hair.

While the product worked well for some consumers, others claimed the product left their hair in a worse condition than when they first started using the product.

The class action lawsuit against WEN alleges that the product performs like a “depilatory and caustic agent,” causing damage to hair strands and even the follicle itself.

Among other outcomes, women who have joined the class action lawsuit have reported the following results from using WEN shampoo:

Hair loss
Rash
Scalp irritation
Hair breakage

WEN Hair Class Action Lawsuit Information

Currently, one class action lawsuit has been filed against WEN Hair Care and its parent company Guthy-Renker. Though plaintiffs from 40 states are represented among the 200+ individuals in the lawsuit, most of the plaintiffs are from Texas.

Last month, mediation began in the WEN class action lawsuit to bring together both parties to try and reach a resolution to the claims.

However, as consumers who used WEN hair products continue to come forward with allegations that the shampoo and conditioner caused them to suffer balding, scalp irritation, or other side effects, it is expected that additional lawsuits will be filed.
