Rental Express Contract Class Action Settlement

A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against Oak Creek Park Inc. d/b/a Rental Express. If you entered into a lease-purchase agreement with Rental Express between April 23, 2010 and Jan. 23, 2015, you may be entitled to compensation from the class action settlement.

The Rental Express class action lawsuit alleges the company’s lease-purchase contracts fail to include certain disclosures regarding the cost of the contracts, as required by the Georgia Lease-Purchase Agreement Act.

Rental Express denies the allegations but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation.

Class Members who wish to object to or exclude themselves from the Rental Express settlement must do so no later than Jan. 31, 2016.

Who’s Eligible

Class Members include anyone who entered into a lease agreement with Rental Express between April 23, 2010 and Jan. 31, 2015.

Potential Award

Class Members can choose whether to receive one of the following benefits:

A $45 check;
One free month’s rent on a new lease-purchase contract (up to $150); or
Cancellation of any debt owed to Rental Express on a closed contract where the Class Member has returned any rented items.
